an external pump to help the one inside the oil pan

"The LS7 has a dry-sump oiling system designed to keep the engine properly lubricated during the high cornering loads the Corvette Z06 is capable of producing. An engine compartment-mounted 8-quart reservoir delivers oil to the engine oil pump under the demanding conditions of cornering loads in excess of 1 g."

The LS7's dry sump was barely enough if I remember, they had an extremely limited budget and the LS7 still needs aftermarket oiling if you put hotter rubber under it.

that's true from what i've read, people still need to upgrade the ls7 dry-sump system.

that's why i picked up that insane drysump kit haha

ls is good but rb2det and 2jz are still in the looking. but i have also decided that just doing a rebuilt on the original 124/28 and moding it makes a mean na. shits a toss-up lol

i don't know the problems with 2jz's but i know rb26dett engines also have some stupid issues you should address when you build the engine - one of zach's friends has a r33 gtr and he had to rebuild his engine because a valve dropped or something - whatever it was it was a common issue. he's put several grand into rebuilding his engine. do your research!

i want Andre to get out of this crazy mindset, just get a VQ35, and call it done, its better then the RB26 and better then the 2JZ for a couple of reasons, and a L28, should not be one of the choices, when you are talking about 6 cylinder engines, you either want 6 or 4 you cant have them both

Lol user preference. The engine choice made is up to the owner and his desired purposes. The L28, though a noble choice, will cost a lot to get it to where Andre wants it to be. I have had many discussions with him, and he has concluded that he would like to have the engine restored with aftermarket components. His goal: NA over 400hp. The engine is a good choice, but the hp goal is expensive. Given that he has the money that would be pretty feasible. If not then it will be the longest engine build known to man. Lol.
The VQ35 sounds good on paper... or in an advice section in the 2011 April issue of import tuner. =P But it would be equally costly. The swap kits, if there are any, for the 240z would cost as much as the LSX swap kits. A shit ton. In the end Andre's goals are his and whatever swap he chooses will bring him problems.

tis talk, tis talk, i was thinking and researching still; the vq35 is not a good engine for the 240z, i always see comments on forums about people having trouble with them in there 240's, basically saying that it takes a lot to get power out of the motor, in the 240 ? idk but ill take there word for it. also about this na thing, it would cost just as much money to build a good turbo build, than to make an n/a with less power. this is a unbiased statement, soooo turbo it is. i dont feel like typeing anymore but, l28 is ment for the 240 and i am ok with a 4 speed, because they are tall gears. also there are numerous parts out there for the l28 performance scene, i find them all the time.

once i get the car it will be have a na high compression head, with components to withstand stress, then when i have the money for the turbo, i will switch heads so i can get a low comp.(heads are easy to find). this is the most reasonable conclusion i have came to ^^

and when are you getting this job at GM? because now it sounds like you have your mind made up, which is good, now you just need to make this a reality, and i want in, on the build

at the new electrical division plant in brownstown, i would be assembling batteries and cpu's, stuff like that. im suppose to hear from gm in april to see if i get the job, all seems strong for me now , since this has been a long on-going process since last year in dec.

and if shit pops off most deff. you can join the build !

yes like i said, l28et is the easiest swap and can get good numbers. 400hp is pretty high though - at that point you should probably just do a lsx swap - the conversion kits are good for those. all the other swaps are very involved and are probably more difficult than it's worth... which is why i originally said to either do a l28et or a lsx. doing the lsx might end up being cheaper than fully building a l28et to get to 400hp though, (all you need is cam really with the ls1 and a ls6 intake)
