| the bubble is ok, looks good with a asc mclaren spoiler but you have to dish out $330 for one since they're so rare. there's nothing else for it aside from old school louvres, but at least it makes you go faster than the standard hatch/notch. well i bought a 93 cobra booster and master cylinder. i'll see if the booster fits without messing with the stock tower - if it does then it'll just go in. if it doesn't i'll figure out if want to try manual brakes. no 80's weirdness bi-wing love? hahaha check out the cosworth! | |

| i talked to one of the previous owners - he told me i should replace the subframe connectors - ugh.
well, maybe i'll just get the whole suspension done up - 3 link!
i found a panhard bar and extra long subframe connectors for cheap, now i just need to find the torque arm. i suppose it would be good to install all of those THEN do the exhaust because everything will have to work around those items.
Welding is involved though.. i need to learn to fucking weld!

| got a pair of older carbon fiber sparco seats with 5 point cam lock harnesses out of some old guy's F40 i went through and got all the pictures of what the car has been through. it was a barn find and went through 4 owners, 2 of which did all of the work - including new rust free doors, new paint, etc. Looks like I'll be the one to stick with it though! Here are all the pictures I found: http://picasaweb.google.com/the.souloist/84MercuryCapriBuild#

| i cut all that old stuff out. it wasn't 4in. though - but i have short clips of it running open header for a few seconds that i posted earlier. DEAFENING. new exhaust will be 1 7/8" to 3" collector long tube headers to 3.5" exhaust with turn downs. - Undertaker4 wrote:

yes. these aren't stock f40 seats although they look similar. the stock f40 seats are much more padded and larger because if you can afford an F40, you are most likely old, maybe fat. these aren't comfortable when you're old and are really small... and i won't answer that last question.

In the old days, body kits were to make a car look and perform -better- than stock. The original body kits for Mk3 Supras are amazing.

| modded the stock slider brackets and mounted the seats - lucked out and the side to side spacing of the sparco holes matched the stock brackets. i just had to mod the passenger side rear mounting point a little. it turned out surprisingly well and seats you pretty low too. beats spending a bunch of money on sliders and brackets!!
i also pulled the old steering column and put a new one in which is the lightest steering column (so i was told). it doesn't have the heavy stock wheel with cruise control, instead it has a 3-spoke ford motorsports wheel. it's also nicer because it has metal stalks instead of full plastic.
i was going to hook up the front brakes, but i'm going to have to change the hardlines from the stock proportioning valve anyway when i change master cylinders and put in a brake proportioning valve. unfortunately, the drivers side hardline connector i stripped... so i'm going to have to get a new line (unless someone has a flaring kit that works well? i've never done any of that before - and i've read the autozone loaner kits suck). i also think you can get some preflared lines from napa?
i got the panhard bar and new lca's today, i think the subframe connectors are coming tomorrow. but i'll wait for sac to help with the connectors and panhard bar (and hopefully a torque arm too). so i'll probably roll the fenders, put on the lca's, koni struts, stainless chassis rear brake line, and maybe swap the rear springs out tomorrow if i'm motivated! i'll get some pics up tomorrow too hopefully.

| well, front fenders rolled (can't do the rears yet because it's still 4 lug and the fender roller doesn't fit), i got the back seat out, and the old wolfe racecraft rear lca's were taken out. the guy i bought new control arms from thought he had extreme duty ones but were actually heavy duty ones... unfortunately i didn't realize this until i installed one set of bushings already so they're not "brand new". then i realized the guy that sold me heavy duty ones... sold me extreme duty ones. MM Panhard bar, Brake Lines, LCAs, etc. I'm going to install these LCA's (extreme duty - which has large Teflon-lined spherical bearings at both ends), not the ones above: Ford Motorsport 3 spoke wheel: Sparco CF seats: should look better with a black interior
