Only way to get a good deal on a used car is to drive it the same day or next day. Cars priced decently sell ridiculously fast right now.

Yeah I need to sell my car first though. It actually lasted almost a month there. It had been keyed down the passenger side. Nice 3 foot long scratch that they did a terrible job trying to buff out. Oh wells.

So I drove a 330i last night. It has the typical rust bubbling through the paint on the right rear quarter above the end of the bumper, about the size of a golf ball. It's jet black. I assume this shouldn't be a ridiculously expensive repair right? never really had such a repair done.

well I called up Roberts in chelsea and they quoted me 500-750. they said they've done several like that. It's made easier by the fact it's jet black.

im going to have to wait for Nick to reply on this one, his Mother has a E46 that has had body work done, he should know a good shop

yeah I've used roberts before and been happy with them but I know opinions are like assholes

A clutch plate should last the life of the car, but that wasn't the case for nicks Lexus, so just drive it until it starts slipping, if you get this that is

Do you mean the pressure plate? It has a contact surface, when the clutch dies, it will glaze and can weaken over time. Always replace all clutch components on an OEM grade clutch.

You probably have another 50K + on the clutch depending obviously on how it was driven previously. Don't know anything about Roberts but that price is great as long as it is a top notch repair. My mom had her work done at VCR in Ann Arbor. It ran her 2.5k however she had a bit more done.

Clutch disc and clutch plate are interchangeable terms. Usually people mean the friction material disc when they say those. "Clutch plate" and "pressure plate" were the two terms used in most of the shops I worked at.
