| I would lift it up, and play around with the wheel, and with the steering wheel and such, and try to see what is loose. See if anything is bent or broken or anything. If nothing is to be found, maybe bring it to a shop with an alignment rack to have them check it out and see what's wrong. If you want a reputable shop, my uncle owns a shop in saline (Gerry's Tire and Alignment) and I know he does reputable work, if it comes down to that. | |

I've had rum but couldn't tell the difference between it and vodka. I've had beer and wasn't impressed, except for a couple brews that were almost like soda to drink. I guess if you drink just to get drunk then the alcohol content is all that matters.

| Hey Corey are you gonna be out in a2 anytime soon? I'd really like to get the car looked at. Also just a question for everyone...do I take suspension/alignment issues to a tire place or a repair shop? (ie Discount/Belle Tire or Arbor Motion)
Adam I would go to your Uncle's, but I wouldn't feel safe driving the car that far.

| Don't go to a tire shop, Belle tire doesn't even have an alignment rack. I would go to a place that specializes in suspension. | |

| Not really, I don't know of any reputable shops in Ann Arbor. Maybe try posting on a2, and asking if they know of any reputable shops, since there are more people on there. | |

| Ann Arbor Muffler does alignments. They're at Jackson/Stadium. They did mine after my springs and it was reasonable. I'm sure they could tell you real quick if anything is broken. | |

| Turn your wheels straight, examine them, turn the to the left examine them, turn them to the right examine them, if it looks off it could be allignment | |

| So the lower left control arm is bent. A2 Muffler wants $600 I've been researching a bit and it looks like with a spring compressor this is a pretty straightforward job. Any input? Is this something I should do myself? | |

| probably, you could replace your lca bushings while you're at it on the other side too. | |

| AutoZone rents spring compressors. They're easy to use. | |

| I would do it yourself, or do it at the school shop, they have a spring compressor. | |

| Thanks for all your guys input.
Alden I'll let you know if I need any help, I'll likely be working with Mark on it.
It seems like a pretty straightforward process with the biggest issue being frozen bolts.

| yeah you can rent spring compressors from autozone or whatever for free, you have to pay for it and they refund you when you bring it back.
start pb blasting them now... and have a torch handy too if needed.

| I have a question, I will need to replace the bushings on the lower control arms. Do new control arms come with the bushings? And what is a bushing kit vs. just the bushing? | |

| First you need to find out if you can even have new bushings pressed into the control arms. Most German cars, you can not so yes, the control arm will come pre loaded | |

| Thanks Nick. Looks like you can press new bushings, but you need a hydraulic pressing machine and its expensive to hire someone. So I think I will just buy the LCA with the bushings in it and leave the right side LCA bushings alone.
Also, how important are torque specs for this job? Is this something I should really try and find out, or do I just tighten "sufficiently"
