PostSubject: Nicks 7m Supra Build    Mon Nov 08, 2010 5:36 am

I've decided to make a build thread even though I'm still unsure whether I am going to keep the car or not. I can however say that at this point I am thoroughly burnt out on buying and selling cars. If I do keep it, progress will be slow, especially with winter right around the corner and a tight budget but hopefully with some luck I will be able to make some progress over the winter and even more during the coming summer. Even though I am not too active over on a2sportcompacts, I have taken a lot of inspiration from Damon and his beautiful 240sx. My goal with this car is pretty simple, I want a fast, good looking summer car that can handle track and back road abuse. My focus as always will be on handling but I also realize that I've never had a seriously fast car and this is a golden opportunity to build somewhat of a poor mans super car.

Short term plans
Get the damn turbo on!!! Mad, get everything hooked up and pray it runs lol
Get new wheels. I'm hoping I can score some 16x8 mitsu Starion wheels for a decent price.
Turbo back exhaust
Doors that AREN'T shaved w/ functioning door handles (is that too much for a guy to ask)
new gauge cluster that doesn't light on fire
BC Racing coilovers
Keep oil in it lol

Long term plans
OEM rebuild
Standalone. I'm thinking Megasquirt because I already have a half built one on deck. If god drops some stacks on me than I'll go haltech
gt30r w/ big injectors and a walbro 255
Plenum type intake manifold w/ bigger FMIC
custom 4 inch turbo back exhaust
Rust repair and paint

Now that I've shared all of my top secret info, here's a shitty picture

Updates will come

so this build went down the drain, but for a good reason, but you never did tell me, what is the next car to roll up in your driveway?

Still here. I'm not sure whats going on yet, 50 hour work weeks haven't given me much time to decide what I want to do. Whatever car I get next will be cheap but hopefully clean.

Not much. I just need to re-install the intake piping and finish my tuneup, I just haven't had the time/energy to work on it. I have however had some rod knock nightmares. I'm still considering keeping it.

Just don't ever drive it, so you don't have the urge to keep it.

just do it, you'll be different from the "mkiii supra" crowd. i know it sucks when the community behind the car isn't great - but that makes it more rewarding sometimes too - since your car will be different than all the other straight-line only supra's.

I agree, it would be very cool to have a different mk3. This car though just isn't me. It reminds me too much of all of the 5 series I had. Too complex, to heavy, to much of a drama queen, to expensive to modify. It's a heavy hitter for sure and it has the potential to easily be fast as fuck but I am not at a place in my life were I want to build that type of car. I am past the days were I had dreams of having a 500 whp car. I'm just looking for balance right now.

Decision has finally been made. After much thought, I've decided to look for a 4 door e30 similar to this

.

It really was between this and a Subaru CG. I decided though that I was finally ready to return to Bmwland were I feel I belong.

Very Happy

I've had both 4 door and coupe. I liked the 4 door more by a million miles. I also tend to gravitate more towards 4 doors because I like the way they look more than coupes. Why do you ask?

Alex Shchipkov's 4 door *drool*

you're returning back to Bayern Motor Works, i agree strongly with your decision, but are you going to finish the supra then sell or just sell?
