I swapped in a GTX260Ti and got a 23" 1080 monitor. Two monitors still seems kind of paltry compared to what some people are working with It's too bad seeing to the left doesn't keep them in front of me

I got a chance to play iRacing on my friend's account. Really considering getting it!

It's really good if you take simulator practice seriously and still pretty good if you're really into race sims.

Yeah, our other friend (who is a GT5 diehard) hated it. My friend Patrick, who has iRacing, used to be a GT5 fanatic, and went to the GT Academy nationals.

seat from a Mk1 Jetta also installed a load sensor in the brake pedal. Very rewarding mod

So the kid has been wanting a racing wheel setup. He's playing Forza Horizon a ton and loves it (and is amazingly good with just a controller). I figure this Christmas is the right time. I found a great deal on a Playseat revolution seat/wheel stand. Now I need to decide on a wheel/pedals. I'm thinking I can either go a little cheaper with the G27 for $210, or maybe this setup right here for 359.
I'm leaning towards the fanatec because it seems much higher quality, and the pedals are aluminum with a load cell brake. Thoughts?

I'm also curious if there are other brands I should be considering in this price range.

Fanatec is highly recommended on the iracing forums. I've only used Logitech wheels. I like my G27 but it wouldn't be the same without the aftermarket load cell, which is hard to come by. Getting him one with a load cell would be great!

Cool.
BTW, I know you guys have rigged up some pretty sweet home-brew setups, but this seat was selling for $550 just over a month ago (well I guess it still is at most places)
